Math Department

The Mathematics Department at North Catholic strives to support each student, as an individual, in achieving success within a challenging and rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum.

We are proud to offer a variety of opportunities to earn college-credit for motivated students.  Including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and College in High School Statistics through the University of Pittsburgh.  These courses, as well as our Honors courses, offer a high-level of rigor.  Taking rigorous courses in high school is one of the most accurate predictors for student success at the college level.

Through their four years of mathematics, all students will develop strong foundations in math.  All students will be able to use their TI-84 Plus graphing calculator to deepen their mathematical understanding of a specific math topic.  All students will be prepared for success on standardized tests, such as the SAT and ACT.  All students will experience our cross-curricular initiative in action, as our teachers work with teachers in other departments to help students make critical connections between topics.  All students will gain critical thinking skills which will benefit them throughout their lives.

We look forward to showing our students all the opportunities that an understanding of mathematics will unlock for them!
