Music
North Catholic has a rich tradition of excellence in music. From preparing All State musicians, to the championship Marching Bands of the 1990’s and early 2000’s, music has been a foundation of the North Catholic community. Students at North Catholic High School have opportunities to study music throughout their entire high school career with courses such as AP Music Theory, Class Guitar, Class Piano, Music Technology, and Video Production. Students are able to participate in the Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, String Orchestra or the Trojan Chorale. The different ensembles also participate in various community performances, such as our annual performance for the Little Sisters of the Poor, and as active Pennsylvania Music Educators Association members, our students represent NCHS in the PMEA District 5 Band, Choir, and Orchestra festivals. The NCHS Trojan Marching Band participates in all North Catholic football games, as well as PIMBA Competitions, Band Festivals, and parades like the Kennywood Fall Fantasy Parade.

Art
Students are welcome to join the Art Program through a variety of courses, from introductory to advanced. Our classes give students a well-rounded glimpse into the arts, offering the study of traditional art materials in 2D and 3D, as well as classes focusing on technology and graphic design. All of the courses feature an art history component to enable students to learn about artists of the past and make cross-curricular connections.

We also offer students the opportunity to join the art club. We promote community service through art, including programs like Empty Bowls and the Memory Project. We serve our school by creating designs for events such as the drama department's annual spring musical. Contests like these allow students to sharpen their Digital Arts skills.
